Workshop & Retreat FAQs

Our model emphasizes a whole-person and body-centered approach to learning with mindfulness as a central, grounding principle at the core of all of our trainings, workshops and retreats. These professional development opportunities not only help refine your hands-on skill and increase therapeutic effectiveness, but will also positively affect your professional and personal relationships and your overall well being.

Many of our trainings are offered in a retreat format in beautiful natural settings. We build in time outside of the continuing education hours to integrate, rest, eat well, receive spa services and be in nature. In our international trainings we create a cultural experience for you and plan optional activities beyond the continuing education training.

We consciously limit the number of participants in our classes and retreats to provide you access to a high level of personal attention in an engaging and supportive learning environment.

We routinely offer our in-person trainings in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. We also offer international retreats in Bali, Costa Rica, Italy and Turkey. We offer all of our courses as live webinars two to three times per year.

All of our live webinars are offered through Zoom. When you register we will send you an email with details about the class and then one to two days prior to the class, you will receive a link to join the webinar. It is best to use a computer or a tablet, rather than a phone, for the optimal experience.

It is important to us that participants in our webinars feel a sense of connection with us and others in the class so we intentionally limit the size of classes, with most being between 12-24 people. As with our in-person classes, we value a training experience that allows for accessibility, engagement and an opportunity to ask questions – something we don’t believe is possible in large classes.

Yes! Our courses are open to everyone who is invested in healing, growth, transformation and personal enrichment. These courses are appropriate for many professions, including fields such as medicine, wellness and body-centered psychotherapy.

We will provide you with a certificate of completion for any course that you take with us which can be submitted to your licensing or credentialing organization. Some professions will accept continuing education hours from NCBTMB Approved Providers.

Please visit our Workshop & Retreats page to view our current course offerings. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please contact us at [email protected].

Policies

Deposits & Cancellations

You may hold your spot in one of our workshops or retreats by paying a deposit when you register. We highly recommend this option as many of our workshops and retreats sell out months in advance. For our three or four day workshops you can hold your spot with a $100 non-refundable deposit. For our international retreats, there is an initial $500 non-refundable deposit due at registration and then a second $500 non-refundable deposit due 6 months prior to the retreat.

In order to receive the early registration discount for the workshop or retreat, full payment must be received by the early registration deadline, which is usually 30 to 90 days prior to the training (the deadline varies by location). If full payment is not received by the deadline, your invoice will be updated to reflect the regular price. Your balance may be paid by credit card, debit card, electronic check or by mailing a check.

To cancel your registration you must send an email stating that you wish to cancel to: [email protected]. We will acknowledge your cancellation within 24-48 hours. If you do not hear from us, please resend your email or call us at 919-907-0579.

Please note that there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays or illness. If you cancel your participation in the retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy will apply, with no exceptions. We wish we could compensate people for unforeseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc), but we have already incurred significant costs when reserving the location and retreat center. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the event that your plans change. For those traveling to our retreats and workshops, you may wish to purchase travel insurance. Please note that there may be a separate cancellation policy for your accommodation and meal package depending on the location. A complete cancellation policy for your particular training will be provided when you register.

If you are canceling a workshop or retreat that you have previously rolled forward, the above cancellation policy does not apply. Payments may only be rolled forward once. Please be in touch with us if you have any questions.

You will receive a full refund, less a 4% credit card fee if you paid by credit card if you cancel more than 30 days before the webinar begins. If you cancel between 7-29 days prior, you can move your registration forward to any other workshop or training within a year. If you cancel 1-6 days prior to the training your fee will be forfeited.

You may cancel your registration up until 45 days prior to the workshop and receive a full refund of any monies paid, less the $100 non-refundable deposit and less a 4% credit card fee. Any cancellations received less than 45 days prior to the workshop will not be refunded or credited

IF YOU CANCEL:
For cancellations 180 days or more prior to the start of the retreat you will receive 100% credit of the $500 non-refundable deposit toward another workshop or retreat within one year of your written cancellation. Any other monies paid will be refunded in full less a 4% credit card fee.

For cancellations 90-180 days prior to the start of the retreat $500 of your deposit will be forfeited and the remaining $500 of your deposit will be credited toward another workshop or retreat within one year of your written cancellation. Any other monies paid will be refunded in full less a 4% credit card fee.

For cancellations 65-90 days prior to the start of the retreat $1,000 of your deposit will be forfeited and any other monies paid will be credited toward another workshop or retreat within one year of your written cancellation.

For cancellations 0-65 days prior to the start of the retreat, no refunds or credits will be given.

Please note: If you are canceling a workshop or retreat that you have previously rolled forward, the above cancellation policy does not apply. Payments may only be rolled forward once. Please be in touch with us if you have any questions.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a workshop or retreat due too few participants or unforeseen circumstances, we will refund to you all deposits and payments you have paid and in some circumstances, less a 4% credit card fee. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. Please check with us prior to booking your flight to ensure that we have met the minimum number of registrations to hold the training. In the event that we must cancel a retreat due to weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, we cannot guarantee a refund – it will be dependent on us receiving a refund from the retreat center. We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance in order to cover these risks.
