Navigating new pathways

This course explores the impact of disrupted lymphatic pathways resulting from cancer treatments such as radiation, surgery, and lymph node removal. Discussions will focus on understanding the onset of lymphedema and techniques for navigating alternate lymphatic routes.

Key topics include methods for managing soft tissue edema in patients recovering from breast, ovarian, prostate, and other cancers. For massage therapists, the course provides specialized insights into effectively treating individuals with compromised lymphatic systems. By the conclusion of the course, participants will have a comprehensive grasp of optimizing lymphatic pathways to enhance client outcomes.

Additionally, the class introduces the basics of utilizing compression wear for client management. This course builds upon the foundation of Lymph Massage for Minor Pathologies, welcoming practitioners of all backgrounds, whether or not they have completed the initial class.

Juul Bruin, MA, RN, LMBT has a unique blend of experience in the healthcare field, spanning four decades in both traditional and holistic health modalities. A native of the Netherlands, she began her career as a psychiatric and hospice nurse. Upon relocating to the United States, Juul attended the Body Therapy Institute and is a NC Licensed Massage Bodywork Therapist (#630).

She later trained at the renowned Dr. Vodder School in Austria, becoming a LANA Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2001. Juul is credentialed in the First Line Therapy modality as an integrative health coach by the Functional Medicine Institute. She also has a Masters degree in Holistic Health from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. She enjoys sharing her thirty five year journey in health promotion and beautifully guides her fellow massage therapists toward an enriching, healthy and happy lifestyle.

This course is approved by the NCBTMB and you will receive 21 CE hours at the end of the training. Your certificate will be sent to you electronically promptly after completion of the training. This training is sponsored by Cultivating Inner Stillness Workshops and Retreats.

This three day training is being held at Blueberry Gardens in the beautiful rolling pasture land between Baltimore and DC. It is located in Montgomery County and a convenient location for many whether you are commuting locally or traveling for this training. Directions can be found here. For those needing overnight accommodations, most hotel chains and Airbnb accommodations within a 10-15 minute drive of Blueberry Gardens.
